So here it is, the first official blog post…
I have procrastinated for a week trying to come up with something epic to say..something that would wow everyone. But the thing is…you can’t force greatness, it comes over time and with a lot of failure. And being the very first post, who really is going to read it anyway…haha
The biggest point of this blog and my journey overall…Is to finally just take action on my dreams!!
So that is what I am doing….I am finally writing this first post. Finally taking action. It may not be long and it might not be the greatest literary work ever written, but it is a step forward and towards my dreams. I promise from here on, I will make it a habit to post at least weekly (if not more). You can hold me to that commitment.
The more I think about it, the more I realize talking about taking action is truly the best way to start this journey. For so many years I put off dreams due to fear and worry. I would tell myself that things were not quite perfect yet or I wasn’t sure if this was the direction I should take. I wasted so many opportunities and so much time through inaction!
The thing about putting off your dreams until everything is perfect or the time is just right…is that it never happens. Here I am in my forties and I already have a list of regrets. I don’t want to be at the end of my life looking back at a bunch of what ifs. I want to look back and say..wow, what an amazing life!
We get so caught up in worrying what others might say and the idea that everything has to be an immediate success, that we miss the whole point of life. It is about experimenting and finding out what works for you (in all areas of life). It’s about failing and learning. Taking those lessons and tweaking what you do. Those small course corrections eventually lead to success and the life you always wanted or maybe never knew you could have. Without taking the action or the risk, you will never reach the goal.
So if you learn anything from me, it’s this..take action every day, explore life, don’t worry about what others say, and don’t get too caught up in success and failure. Life has a funny way of working out if you relax, listen to your gut, and just take action…
